The Founders

Dr. S. I. Akinfalabi

Founder

Dr. S. I. Akinfalabi was born and raised in Port Harcourt, had all his education from primary to University level in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He studied Animal and Environmental Biology at the University of Port Harcourt, Choba before proceeding to the University of Putra Malaysia where he obtained his Master's degree in Process Safety and Loss Prevention in 2014 and Ph.D. in Green Engineering in 2019.

During his Ph.D. education, he was the country representative in the international student council and became the Chairman of the Nigerian Community at the University Putra Malaysia. He is currently the student leader in the Nigerian Community in Malaysia.

He has an expansive background in leadership all through his life and has since facilitated several mentorship programs across Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Malaysia.

Mrs. Shukura O. Ibrahim

Co-founder

Shukurah Oluwaseun Ibrahim, although a native of Ogbomoso in Oyo state, was born and raised in Lagos state Nigeria. She had her primary and secondary education in Lagos State, while she obtained her bachelors’ degree in Banking and Finance from Crescent University in Ogun State. She has an MBA from the Eastern Mediterranean University, Famagusta, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Currently a Ph.D. candidate, she has led several teams on mentorship and career guidance for underprivileged female children. She is passionate about the education of every girl child in Nigeria and Africa at large and is keen on being part of the long-term solution.

Moshood Is a passionate, reliable professional with multiple years of experience, wholly dedicated to using data to provide insight and make informed decisions, with creative problem-solving approaches to tackling challenges. Expertise is placed within market analysis, forecasting, making informed decisions, business intelligence, business process optimisation, revenue assurance, performance analysis and customer need assessments. An Energetic presenter and confident communicator with the ability to communicate insights clearly and efficiently for decision making processes.

He’s has functioned in various capacity in the data space, from being a Risk Analyst, to Performance and Business Analyst, Data Scientist and as a Machine Learning Engineer. He has written a number of AI related blogs and is currently researching on the application of AI in healthcare, as part of the Data Science Network research initiative.

He is passionate about giving back to people and is currently a mentor at the OpenClassroom, The Akinfalabs Foundation, Data Science Network (in personal and group capacities), and the African-Canadian AI and Data Innovation Consortium (ACADIC), and the University of Bradford PAL(Peer Assisted Learning) Group.

Morris Deeue

Morris Deeue is a passionate and seasoned Environmentalist with a background in Animal and Environmental Biology from the University of Port Harcourt and a Masters degree in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management from the University of Lagos.

He's worked and consulted for both private and government parastatals, especially within the Oil and Gas sector and currently a Technical Assistant in Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).

Morris is a family oriented guy, married, a father and a volunteer to several community based projects.

Mfoniso Antia

About Mfonsio Antia

Mentor

Mfoniso Antia is an environmental scientist/researcher cum climate justice advocate – She holds a Master of Science Degree in Aquatic Pollution and Toxicology, currently studying for a PhD in Environmental Toxicology with the World Bank Africa Center for Public Health and Toxicological Research hosted by University of Port Harcourt.

She works with Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF) as the Project Lead, overseeing HOMEF’s learning spaces (Ikike). She also doubles as the Anglophone coordinator of Africa Technology Assessment Platform (AfriTAP), a network to which HOEMF is a founding member.

Mfoniso Antia is a contributing author of HOMEF’s short stories series, A Walk in the Curfew and Other Pandemic Tales. She also has a number of research publications to her name.

Dr. Usman Nda-Umar

Dr. Usman I. Nda-Umar, FCSN , MICCON , is a Nigerian with versatile experience in teaching and research spanning over two decades with the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Nigeria. His research interest is in the areas of analytical instrumentation, catalysis, environmental pollution and waste management. He is a graduate of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, University of Ibadan, Nigeria and University Putra Malaysia.

He has profound leadership experience accross academic and civil society organisations. He was head of department, director, and a member of Rector Advisory Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida. He also served the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics as Chapter Chairman and National Secretary General. He was a member of National Executive Council and Central Working Committee of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). He recently served the Nigerian students community in University Putra Malaysia as Chairman and country representative in the international students Congress.

His landmark achievements in the areas of selfless and inspirational leadership, effective and quality representation, youth development, educational advancement and community service propel him into the mentorship and carrier guidance programs for the youths and future leaders across the globe.

Ayobami was born and raised in Eruwa, Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State, though a native of Ifon, Ondo State. Her academic qualifications include National Certificate in Education (NCE) from Osun State College of Education, Ilesa; Bachelor of Science ( B.Sc), Masters of Science (M.Sc) and a Doctorate degree (PhD) in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan.

She began her career as a teacher and taught at elementary through to tertiary level before making a switch to the banking industry with more than 10 years’ experience. She is a minister of the gospel, an advocate of mutual and self-respect, dignity, worth and love. She is married with children.
